- News section shows the list of currently active (not locked) news items and their brief abstracts together with the link to full news item
- User can follow the link to open full news item content (date, title, abstract and text)
- Important News subsection can be shown on top of News section
- If Forum module is installed a news item can be discussed (replies and submission form is shown below news item content)
- News groups can be added/updated/deleted by Super Admin
- News items can be added/updated/deleted by proper Content Admin or added/updated by proper Author
- News items can be in locked/unlocked status (shown or not) - controlled by Admin
- News items can be in frozen/unfrozen status (editable or not) - controlled by Admin
- Super Admin can switch on or off Discuss feature
- Any number of pictures can be uploaded in news items
- Super Admin has access to all news items, Content Admins and Authors – only to their news items
- Note - Last News column type becomes available after installation of this module
